Looking for a quick, no-fuss dessert this summer? This lemon torte is gorgeous to look at and so simple. If you can make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich you can make this torte. My sister made this for us to eat with afternoon coffee while we played Catan. I almost won too. I should have won actually, but that is a topic for a different day.
Lovely Lemon Torte
- Lady Fingers
- Lemon Curd
- Fresh Whipped Cream
- Berries of choice
Take a layer of the lady fingers (usually 6 across) and lay it flat on your serving tray. Spread lemon curd, then whipped cream and top with berries. Put on another layer of lady fingers and repeat the lemon, whipped cream and berry steps. Repeat one more time. Voila! Instant chic dessert!
I definitely have a new love affair with lady fingers and can’t wait to try out a dessert using Nigella’s Crème Anglaise which is perfect and works every time for me. Unfortunately this recipe is not online but you can find it in her first book:
