The idea for this post all started with a green wool skirt I ordered from J.Crew. When I received it, I started matching it up with tops in my wardrobe and at one point it hit me that I could dress like a Slytherin Alumni (even though I am not) on any day of the week without looking like I was in a costume. It could be my own private way to add an extra element of fun into my day. If someone picked up on it then I would know they were a kindred spirit.
If this is something you want to try, the first step is finding out which Hogwarts House you belong to. I feel like if you are reading this you probably already know your House but if not, you can find out easily enough over at Pottermore. I am in Ravenclaw.
Once you know your House, feel free to get some inspiration from my Polyvore creations below. Even though I am in Ravenclaw, the Hufflepuff outfit I made is probably my favorite because it looks a little “sassy librarian” as well.
Styling Ravenclaw is trickier if you use the actual House colors of blue and bronze. The metal is fine for accessories but bronze turns into a rust brown look for clothing which isn’t always the most flattering. The movie version is blue and silver/light grey which is way easier to style but not as authentic.
