Handmade Facial Scrubs by Simple Sugars

Handmade Facial Scrubs by Simple Sugars

Reviewing a facial scrub is not something I ever expected to do. Because I have had sensitive skin, allergies and eczema my whole life, I generally steer clear of any type of abrasive product on my skin. That all changed when I discovered the Simple Sugars facial scrubs.

I first became aware of Simple Sugars from an episode of Shark Tank. Normally I wouldn’t try a product based on one person’s testimonial, but Lani’s (the creator of Simple Sugars) story of coping with sensitive skin and eczema her whole life resonated with me and I decided to give it a try.

I tried both the Green Tea and Strawberry sugar facial scrubs. I chose to get both of them with Emu oil after I read about the antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties Emu oil is purported to have.

First I used the Green Tea sugar scrub daily until it was gone. Next I tried the Strawberry sugar scrub. I used it daily at first and then went to every other day. I can honestly say these scrubs are so gentle and the Emu oil leaves your skin feeling super soft for the rest of the day. It is almost addictive to use.

As an added bonus I noticed that some tiny raised bumps I was getting on my jawline have disappeared and I don’t use nearly as much lotion on my face as I used to.

If you have eczema, acne or sensitive skin I highly recommend giving these scrubs a try. If you have no skin issues (lucky you!) but still like to use an exfoliator, I think you will like this sugar scrub.

If you plan on ordering a Simple Sugar scrub, make sure you get a flip top lid if you are going to use it in the shower.

Give the scrub a good stir each time you use it as the sugar migrates to the bottom. If you run low on the sugar component before the rest of your product it gone, you can add pure cane sugar to extend the life of the scrub.

The 5 oz. tub lasts about one month with fairly regular use.

I get those bumps on my jawline all the time too. I usually do not use scrubs because they feel too coarse on my skin. But based on your review, I will have to look into Simple Sugar scrubs.

I’ve never even heard of it, but I suffer from the same skin type as yourself so will have to look it up now!!!

I got my daughter the vanilla body scrub with emu oil – her eczema is on her torso and arms. She has used it twice so far, and although she is still itching, I see much less redness and bumps. We learned about it the same way that you did – from Shark Tank!

I hope it keeps working for your daughter! I know how awful eczema can be.
